A conference named “Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Day” was held within the scope of the 104th anniversary of the Çanakkale War. Prof. Dr. Zafer GÖLEN, a faculty member of the History Department of our university's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, attended the conference as a speaker.

The program, which started with the screening of our National Poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy's poem “Çanakkale Şehitlerine”, continued with the speech of Prof. Dr. Zafer GÖLEN.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Zafer GÖLEN emphasized that the Çanakkale War was a turning point for the Turkish nation and touched upon the spiritual significance of this war. He mentioned that the great determination and patriotism shown by the Turkish nation inspired the War of Independence.

He concluded his speech by emphasizing that young people today should show the same spirit by producing and working.

The program ended with the presentation of a commemorative gift to Prof. Dr. Zafer GÖLEN.
